Laal Rang

In Haryana, blood is stolen from blood banks and sold on the black market. Seeing that blood which is supposed to be donated free is being sold at a high price, Shankar goes into the trade with his friend Rajesh. In time the friendship between the two comes apart over money, women, the police and an unexpected death. The film tells this arrangement as black comedy and builds a world in which nobody is entirely innocent. The account leaves the real question open: is selling blood a crime, or the answer to a shortage. Randeep Hooda plays the lead in Syed Ahmad Afzal’s hundred and forty seven minute Indian film, completed in 2016.
