Le Polygraphe

A woman was killed and no culprit was found. Years later the case is being made into a film. An actress is to play the victim. When she wins the part she starts preparing. There is another side to it. Her neighbour is connected to the case. The man had been the murdered woman’s lover. He is still among the suspects. The film’s title points to the lie detector. What someone says and what gets proved are separate things. What is between the actress and the neighbour begins to change. The real case and the reconstruction run into each other. Patrick Goyette, Marie Brassard, Peter Stormare and Maria de Medeiros appear in the ninety two minute film, a Canadian, French and German production Robert Lepage finished in 1996.
