Life Ahead

Antonio Redondo has studied law and Josefina Castro medicine; the two of them are newly married. They are looking for work so they can buy a flat and start a life together. But finding work, and buying a flat, do not go the way they imagined. The difficulties in front of them pile up one after another through the whole process. The film tells what stands in the way of a young couple in Spain in the fifties, and tells it as comedy. The gap between a diploma and a life is the real subject. The account moves without falling into despair and without dressing anything up. Fernando Fernán Gómez both directs and acts, with Analía Gadé and José Isbert also in the cast. The ninety minute Spanish film was completed in 1958.
