What Life in the Doghouse Is About

The documentary tells the story of the dog rescue set up by Ron Danta and Danny Robertshaw. Moved to act after Hurricane Katrina left thousands of dogs stranded, the two men made a shelter out of their own house, and within ten years they had rescued and rehomed more than ten thousand animals. The film shows their daily work, what it means to share a house with the animals, and the life the two of them have built together. It gives the weight of the work without falling into easy sentiment: the money, the space and the time are never enough. Ron Davis’s eighty four minute American documentary was completed in 2018.
