Love, Cecil

The documentary is about the life and work of Cecil Beaton. Beaton was a photographer, an artist and a set designer. He was best known for costume design, and won an Academy Award for it. Gigi and My Fair Lady are at the front of the films he worked on. The film uses archive footage. There are also conversations with people who worked with him. Among those who speak are models, artists and filmmakers. Rupert Everett, Leslie Caron and David Hockney appear in it, and so do Hamish Bowles and Isaac Mizrahi. The account follows Beaton’s long career from one end to the other. Lisa Immordino Vreeland’s American documentary, ninety eight minutes long, was completed in 2017.
