Love Never Ends

The film tells of two separate relationships among four people past their sixties. A late closeness forms between a man who has lost his wife and a woman living alone, while another couple look for ways to spend the time that is left together. The people around them neither understand these relationships nor make them easier; children object, neighbours talk, and an order in which loving in old age is treated as shameful shows itself. The film describes that love against the quiet pressure without embarrassment, and does not hide that time is running short either. Han Yan’s hundred and sixteen minute Chinese film was adapted from a comic; Ni Dahong, Kara Hui, Tony Leung Ka-fai and Cecilia Yip appear. It was completed in 2023.
