Darío Grandinetti What Love Returns Is About
Luca, a famous actor, is both the lead and the director of his new film. One day he falls seriously ill, and through the time he spends in hospital he goes over his life again. The film does not make the illness an occasion for a lesson; it gives in turn the empty hours in hospital, the visitors and what comes into his mind. The account ties the shooting set to the hospital room, both of them standing between the invented and the real. What comes of it is not a clear transformation but a pause. Fabrizio Bentivoglio and Margherita Buy appear in Sergio Rubini’s hundred and ten minute Italian film, completed in 2004.
