What LoveTrue Is About

The documentary looks at three relationships in three different parts of America and tries to break the moulds that repeated telling has built around love. In Alaska, Blake and Joel build a life together despite her work at a strip club and the difficulties in his body. In Hawaii, Coconut Willie has to define love again from the start after learning that he is not his son’s biological father. In New York, the daughter of a family whose parents separated unexpectedly approaches the matter through faith. Alma Har’el joins real people with staged scenes and with dance, deliberately blurring the border of documentary. The eighty two minute American production was completed in 2016.
