What Man Facing Southeast Is About
A patient whose name nobody knows arrives at a psychiatric hospital in Buenos Aires, saying he comes from another planet and was sent to study human beings. He is given the name because he stands in the courtyard every day facing southeast. He is calm and gentle and criticises coolly what people do to each other. His doctor is unhappy with his own life and begins, gradually, to think about what the patient says. Eliseo Subiela made it a few years after the dictatorship, and confinement was not chosen as a subject by accident. Its resemblance to K-PAX was argued over for years.
