What Moy paren - angel Is About
Sasha is a student, and a man suddenly turns up in her life; the man is actually an angel. Vera Storozheva takes that premise not as fantastical suspense but as romantic comedy. Being an angel has rules and so does being a person, and the two do not run together, which is what the film is really about. Artur Smolyaninov and Anna Starshenbaum lead. It is a fable that sustains a simple idea across ninety seven minutes without slipping into irony or playing games with the audience. It does not go anywhere unexpected, but it gets properly to the place it said it was going.
