What My Bossy Girl Is About
Hwi-so, a mechanical engineering student who spends his time in the robot club, is warm hearted but timid. At a university festival he meets Hye-jin, an archer; she uses a wheelchair, is aiming for the national Paralympic archery team and has no hesitation about saying what she thinks. When her chair is damaged during a dispute their paths necessarily cross, and Hye-jin will not leave the matter without settling what she owes. The film makes her disability neither an occasion for pity nor material for heroism; Hye-jin’s stubbornness and her goal both remain her own. In Lee Jang-hee’s hundred minute Korean film, Lee Elijah plays Hye-jin and Ji Il-ju plays Hwi-so. It opened on 4 December 2019.
