What My Favorite Brunette Is About
Ronnie Jackson photographs babies for a living and privately imagines himself a private detective. When the real detective next door leaves the office empty, a beautiful baroness walks in, takes him for the detective, and asks him to find her missing husband. Ronnie says yes. A few days later he is on death row, telling a room of reporters how he got there. Bob Hope takes apart every convention of film noir in turn, with Dorothy Lamour, Peter Lorre and Lon Chaney Jr. around him. One of the best genre parodies of the forties.
