What My Heart Puppy Is About

Min-soo is about to get married when his fiancee admits at the last minute that she is allergic to dogs, which means he has to find a new family for Rooney, the golden retriever who has been his closest friend for years. With help from his cousin and from social media he starts looking, and the search takes him as far as Jeju. Jason Kim's 2023 Korean film sets this up as a comedy without softening its question: at what point does taking an animal in become an arrangement you can walk away from? While it looks over the candidates one by one it is also arguing about what adoption means. Yoo Yeon-seok and Cha Tae-hyun lead it.
