Myrnyi-21

The film is set at the start of 2014. The place is eastern Ukraine. At the centre of the account is a border base. The base is in the Luhansk region. What the film is about is trust and the absence of it. The soldiers at the base come under pressure. Separatists and Russian special services try to win them over. What is wanted of them is to betray their country. Those efforts come to nothing. The account follows the soldiers’ resistance. The film runs war and drama together. Andrii Saminin and Maksym Devizorov take the leads, with Yevhen Lamakh and Viktor Zhdanov also in the cast, in Akhtem Seitablaiev’s Ukrainian film of 2023.
