No Entry

Kishen is married to Kajal, who is permanently jealous, although Kishen is entirely faithful. His friend Prem is the opposite: married, constantly unfaithful, and every lie requiring the next one. Prem drags Kishen into it, and the chain of lies quickly becomes impossible for anyone to track. Anees Bazmee directs. Anil Kapoor plays Kishen, Salman Khan plays Prem, Fardeen Khan plays the third friend Sunny, with Bipasha Basu, Lara Dutta, Esha Deol and Celina Jaitly. It is not original. It is a remake of the 2002 Tamil film Charlie Chaplin, and one of the better known instances of Bollywood's habit of adapting from southern cinema. It was a major commercial success in India and one of the biggest comedies of 2005. The sequel is a story of its own. No Entry Mein Entry was announced for years, the cast changed, the date moved repeatedly, and the project stayed in development limbo for a long time. Who it is for: viewers who like Bollywood comedy, particularly farce built on misunderstanding. Who it is not for: the entire comic engine treats male infidelity as fun, and the women are either jealous or traps. The template does not survive a look from here.
