What Noah's Arc: Jumping the Broom Is About
Noah and Wade go to Martha’s Vineyard to be married and take their friends along. The days at the island house pass not in preparation but in each person’s own trouble: a question of trust between one couple, news about another’s health, and a relationship someone in the group has long kept quiet. The unannounced arrival of Baby Gat, a rapper Wade once worked with, puts the wedding itself at risk. The film puts a circle of black gay friends at its centre and builds the wedding as a reckoning as much as a celebration. Patrik-Ian Polk’s hundred and one minute American film continues the series of the same name.
