Obey Giant

The documentary takes up Shepard Fairey. Fairey is an American artist. His work began on the street. Its root lies in punk music. Skateboard culture is part of that root as well. The documentary comes from those roots to the present. His work turns up on walls and on posters. His best known work turned out to be an election poster. The poster was used in Obama’s campaign. The word hope was written on it. The image spread everywhere before long. But the poster also set off an argument. The argument was about where the image came from. The documentary goes into that as well. Shepard Fairey and Thierry Guetta speak in the ninety minute documentary. James Moll’s American production was finished in 2017.
