Gunner Greyson What Orange Sunshine Is About
The documentary tells of the Brotherhood of Eternal Love, a group of surfers and hippies in Southern California. In the late sixties and early seventies these people, who believed they could change the world with LSD, turned within a short time into one of the largest suppliers of drugs anywhere and, without meaning to, set the pattern of the modern smuggling trade. At the centre of the account are the husband and wife who led the group. Former members speak in their own words; what they give is not a defence but a reckoning made in hindsight. In the end come surveillance, arrests and dispersal. William A. Kirkley’s hundred and five minute American documentary was completed in 2016.
