Out of Print

The documentary is about a cinema. The cinema is called the New Beverly. It runs independently in Los Angeles. Instead of new films it shows old ones. It puts them on in thirty five millimetre prints. The film looks at the place through the eyes of the people who go there. For them it is more than a habit. The documentary discusses what the move to digital brought with it. Why thirty five millimetre is cared about is explained. How a print wears and how it disappears is shown. Directors and actors speak as well. Edgar Wright is among those who talk. Rian Johnson and Joe Carnahan appear too. The film was made by someone who worked at that cinema for years. Edgar Wright and Rian Johnson speak in the eighty six minute documentary. It is an American production Julia Marchese finished in 2014.
