Out Of The Clear Blue Sky

The documentary looks at the eleventh of September 2001. Its subject is a company called Cantor Fitzgerald. The company’s offices were in the World Trade Center. Six hundred and fifty eight of its employees went missing in the attacks. All of them were presumed dead. That number was close to twice the losses of the fire department. But the company’s story slipped into the background before long. The press turned on its chief executive Howard Lutnick. Within a few weeks Lutnick went from being the face of the grief to being a target. The account moves from inside a single company. The film follows events across months and years. Danielle Gardner directed the hundred and seven minute documentary. The American production was finished in 2012.
