What Parade Is About

A two-room flat on the edge of Tokyo with five people living in it. They are between eighteen and twenty-eight; none of them is involved with any of the others, and all of them are polite to each other. The days pass watching films, cooking, sitting around together. At the same time someone in the neighbourhood is attacking women. The household follows it on the news. Isao Yukisada directed the film from Shuichi Yoshida's novel. The telling starts with the ease of a shared house and slowly hollows it out: these people do not really know each other and do not want to. Each of them has a separate life outside. The film screened at the Berlin Film Festival in 2010. Tatsuya Fujiwara is in the cast.
