Pink and Gray

Rengo Shiraki is a well known actor and he dies suddenly. After his death the attention around him moves to his close friend Daiki Kawata. Kawata was an actor who had never caught on; now his name is everywhere. How the death happened is left unclear. Whether he ended his own life or was killed is the question at the centre of the account. The film builds it as a thriller and plays with its own structure. What fame is, and how the balance between two friends is set, is the real subject. The story is adapted from a novel. Yuto Nakajima and Masaki Suda take the leads in Isao Yukisada’s Japanese film of 2016.
