What Pasha Is About
Six months from retirement, Inspector Joss finds his old colleague Gouvion dead, dressed up as a suicide and fooling nobody. Joss stops consulting anyone and starts working on his own, which takes him down into the lower reaches of Paris. Jean Gabin plays Joss and Georges Lautner directed. Michel Audiard wrote the dialogue again. Serge Gainsbourg did the music and appears in the film performing his own song, which later became one of his best known. A hard French crime film about an old policeman working in anger and outside the rules.
