Galia

Galia has just arrived in Paris and lives in a small apartment near Notre-Dame. Walking along the Seine one evening, she saves a young woman who has gone into the water. The woman is called Nicole and says she went in of her own will. She had left a note for her husband, Greg. Galia takes her home, then goes to retrieve that note. But she does not take it at once; first she wants to see how Greg reacts. When Greg seems unmoved by it, Galia decides to wait for him at the art gallery where he works. From there the film turns into a reckoning between two women and one man. Mireille Darc and Venantino Venantini appear in Georges Lautner’s hundred and five minute film, a joint French and Italian production, completed in 1966.
