What Pillow to Post Is About
With the war on and most of the men drafted, an oil supply company is left without a single salesman. So Jean, the owner’s daughter, takes to the road, and makes not one sale. In the end she gets a tentative order from one firm. Because of the housing shortage caused by the war, she needs a military husband to be given a place to stay in the town next to an army camp. She persuades Lieutenant Mallory to act as her husband just for the register. Things go wrong when his commanding officer takes them for married, and grow worse still when his mother and then Jean’s father arrive. Ida Lupino and Sydney Greenstreet appear in Vincent Sherman’s ninety two minute American film, completed in 1945.
