Clay Westervelt’s 2009 documentary watches the B-movie director Jim Wynorski try to shoot a feature in three days. He has made more than seventy of them and never one that fast, so he cuts the schedule, reduces the lighting package to two units, has the cast cook their own food and calls for a hundred setups a day against a Hollywood average of twenty. The film in question is The Witches of Breastwick, and the process is funny and brutal in roughly equal measure. Westervelt does not edit out the friction between Wynorski and the actresses working for him. Roger Corman, Julie Strain and others turn up to talk, and the title comes from one of the pseudonyms Wynorski has directed under.
