Princess

August works as a missionary. His sister Christina dies; she had been a porn actress known as Princess. Her five-year-old daughter Mia is left behind, and August takes the child in. But the guilt of not having saved his sister becomes more than he can carry. With Mia in tow he goes out into the street to erase Christina's films from circulation. Anders Morgenthaler's Danish film is largely animated, with live-action footage cut into it. It opened Directors' Fortnight at Cannes. The director described it as a critique of the porn industry's turning of women into objects; the violence in it is just as hard.
