Rhubarb

T. J. Banner is a rich and eccentric man. He takes in a cat that has been living on the street. In time the cat grows fond of him. He gives it the name Rhubarb. Then Banner dies. In his will he leaves most of his money to the cat. There is something else the cat inherits. A baseball team called the Brooklyn Loons is his too. The team revolts at the situation. They do not want to accept a cat as their owner. The publicist Eric Yeager steps in. He tells the players the cat brings them luck. Once the team starts winning, their opinion changes. Eric’s fiancee Polly, though, is allergic to cats. Being the cat of a winning team brings its own dangers as well. Ray Milland and Jan Sterling appear in the ninety four minute film, an American production Arthur Lubin finished in 1951.
