Rise of the Superheroes

The documentary tells the history of superhero films. It starts from the pages of comic books. The characters were carried from there to the screen. The first large example is Tim Burton’s Batman. Blade came after that. Then X-Men and Spider-Man. With Iron Man the genre moved to another scale. Black Panther is among the later links in that chain. The film follows the course in order. It describes the weight the genre came to have in Hollywood. Then it describes how it spread worldwide. The shape of the action film comes into it too. Chris Claremont is among those who speak. Jenna Busch and Emma Loggins speak as well. Jeffrey Henderson also appears in the hundred and seventeen minute film, a British production Tom O’Dell finished in 2019.
