Joshiy's 2004 Malayalam film follows Unni, driven into smuggling by money trouble. He becomes a known name at the checkpoint on the border between Kerala and Tamil Nadu. The film gives the rise quickly. Once Unni is inside there is no going back; the narrative shows this not as a moral warning but as a career story within the genre form. Dileep leads, playing a hard character where he was known for comedy. The action sequences take wide space and the smuggling arrangements on the border are shown in detail. Who it's for: those who like Malayalam action. Who it's not for: viewers expecting a complex narrative; the film follows the genre pattern directly.
