Screaming Masterpiece

The documentary looks at the music scene in Iceland. The country is small and the scene is crowded. The film asks why that should be. It tries to get the answer from the musicians themselves. The camera goes into venues in Reykjavik. Concerts and rehearsals are filmed. Interviews are set in between. Björk is one of those who speak. Sigur Rós and Múm are in the film as well. It covers a wide field, from folk music to punk. Old melodies and new work stand side by side. The link between the landscape and the music is discussed too. Björk and Hilmar Örn Hilmarsson appear in the eighty four minute documentary, an Icelandic, Danish and Dutch co-production Ari Alexander Ergis Magnússon finished in 2005.
