Seven Invisible Men

A group of men set out in a stolen Mercedes. There seems to be no particular place they are going. They travel among derelict houses and impassable roads. In the end they arrive at an old state farm in Crimea, left to rot. The mother, wife and daughter of one of them live there. The men pass their days smoking, drinking and staring ahead of them. But a tension is building underneath. The party they hold on the last night turns out as destructive as the life they lead. The film explains none of them; it leaves them where they are. Šarūnas Bartas’s hundred and nineteen minute film, a coproduction of five countries, was completed in 2005.
