What Slam Dunk 2: National Tournement Is About
With the inter high championship under way, Shohoku come up against Tsukubu, one of the season’s dark horses. The game is also a settling of old acquaintances: Anzai finds his own former student now coaching the other side, and Akagi and Kogure face Godai, a classmate from years ago. Sakuragi, meanwhile, is thoroughly annoyed by Nango, the opposing centre, competing for Haruko’s attention. Running forty four minutes, this entry in the series adapted from the popular basketball manga puts as much weight on the rivalries inside the team as on the game itself.
