Stuntwomen: The Untold Hollywood Story

The dangerous shots in films are done by stunt performers. The documentary is about the women who do that work. It begins in the years of silent cinema. From there it reaches the big productions of today. Some of the women have been at it for decades. Jeannie Epper and Jadie David are among them. Julie Ann Johnson and Donna Keegan speak as well. What they describe is not only technique. Getting hired, being paid and staying safe all come into it. On sets today the preparation is more planned. A shot is rehearsed from beginning to end before the camera turns. The documentary comes from a 2015 book by Mollie Gregory. Michelle Rodriguez narrates.
