Per Schaanning What The Art of Negative Thinking Is About
Geirr has been in a wheelchair since the accident. He does not leave the house, he shouts at his wife, he sits in the basement smoking and watching old films. His wife's solution is to invite the local disability support group over, a group that works by positive thinking. Geirr wants nothing to do with the method and starts taking the group apart from the inside. What results is a night in which everybody says the things they have not said for years. Bård Breien's film mocks the whole consoling vocabulary built around disability, and does it without asking pity for anyone. It knows how far a black comedy can be pushed and pushes.
