What The Bubble Is About
Three young friends sharing a flat in Tel Aviv: parties, work, love and a daily life at a distance from the conflict. That is why the city gets called the bubble, a place insulated from what is happening in the rest of the country. When one of them begins a relationship with a Palestinian man the bubble starts to give, because the relationship runs into permits, checkpoints and pressure from both sides. Eytan Fox builds it as both a love letter to the city and an account of why that insulation cannot hold. The ending is hard and was much argued over.
