What The Four Year Plan Is About
Queens Park Rangers had hit the bottom in 2007. The small West London club was last in the second division. It was two hours from bankruptcy. That was the moment a group of billionaires bought it. The cameras walked in on the same day. The documentary stayed in the boardroom for four years. Meetings, arguments and sackings all went on film. The new owners interfered in team selection as well. Managers came and went one after another. There was money and there was no patience. The film watches all of it from a distance and offers no commentary. The club had allowed the filming but had no say over where or when. At the end of the fourth year the team went up to the Premier League. The plan worked, and what it cost is there on screen. Flavio Briatore and Amit Bhatia appear in the ninety nine minute documentary, a British production Mat Hodgson finished in 2011.
