The Greatest Love of All

Antônio is an astrophysicist. He lived for decades in the United States. One day he learns he has a brain tumour that cannot be operated on. The time left to him has grown short. He returns to Brazil because of it. There is a question he left behind him. He never knew his own birth mother. He wants to find out who she was. The search takes him into the favelas of Rio de Janeiro. There he sees life running at another speed. The people he meets are nothing like his world. After a lifetime spent in science he is looking for something else. He tries to make a connection between his past and his present. The story follows a return to an origin as death draws near. José Wilker and Taís Araújo appear in the hundred and seven minute film, a Brazilian production Carlos Diegues finished in 2006.
