What The Mindscape of Alan Moore Is About
Alan Moore sits down in front of the camera and tells his own story: a childhood in Northampton, a career writing comics, and then magic. He is the author of Watchmen, V for Vendetta and From Hell, the name that changed what people thought comics could do. For seventy-eight minutes he speaks almost alone. Dez Vylenz's documentary is described as the only film Moore allowed his own work to be used in. Reconstructions, animation and sound design are laid under the talking. Moore does not separate his art from his magic here: for him writing and working magic are two names for the same job. The film itself is built on that logic.
