What The Most Precious of Cargoes Is About
Deep in a Polish forest, a poor woodcutter and his wife have no children, and cold, hunger and the war going on around them have already made life hard enough. One day a bundle falls from one of the trains that cross the forest and lands in front of her: inside it is a baby. That child changes the couple’s life and the lives of everyone whose path she crosses, including the man who threw her from the train.
