What The Nephew Is About
Tony Egan never heard from his sister again after she left for America twenty years ago, and now the news of her death reaches the small Irish island where they both grew up. A few days later her son Chad turns up at his door, a young man with an Irish mother and a Black American father who has come to scatter her ashes on the ground she came from. The island does not take to him easily, and when Chad grows close to Aislinn, the daughter of the publican Joe Brady, an old account reopens: Tony’s anger at Brady goes back to the relationship Brady had with his sister. Eugene Brady’s hundred and five minute film was the first production of Irish DreamTime, the company Pierce Brosnan founded. Hill Harper, Donal McCann and Brosnan star.
