What The Scarlet Dove Is About
Doctor Aitamaa is on holiday with his family at their summer villa when he opens by mistake a letter meant for his wife and sees that it comes from another man. He follows her to the city and confirms the affair with his own eyes. Soon afterwards the woman is found dead and every piece of evidence points to the husband, who has to defend himself both to the police and against his own memory. The film asks less who the culprit is than where jealousy brings a person. Tauno Palo appears in Matti Kassila’s eighty six minute Finnish film; it was completed in 1961.
