What The Spiders: Part 1 - The Golden Sea Is About
San Francisco. Kay Hoog, a sportsman and adventurer, finds a bottle washed out of the sea with a map in it, drawn by a Harvard professor who went missing. The map points to an Inca community still living in a valley in Peru that nobody has reached, and to their gold. Hoog sets off at once. But others want the map: an organisation called the Spiders and its head, Lio Sha. Two expeditions head for the same place, and what waits in the valley is not only gold. Fritz Lang directs the German silent; sixty-nine minutes, with Carl de Vogt as Kay Hoog and Ressel Orla as Lio Sha. It is early Lang: four parts were planned and only two were made. To make it, Lang gave up directing The Cabinet of Dr Caligari.
