What Three Worlds Is About
Catherine Corsini's 2012 film gathers three separate lives around one accident. Al has come from a modest background, worked his way up at the dealership and is about to marry his boss's daughter. Driving back from his stag night he hits a man and, pushed by the two childhood friends in the car with him, leaves him there and drives off. The next day his conscience sends him looking for the victim. The second world is Vera, the victim's wife, an undocumented immigrant determined to get an answer. The third is Juliette, who watched the accident from her balcony and is disturbed as much by her own position as by what she saw. It screened in Un Certain Regard at Cannes in 2012.
