What TIGER & BUNNY: The Beginning Is About
Being a hero here is a job with a broadcast schedule. People born with the ability called NEXT work in suits carrying their corporate sponsors’ logos, every rescue is converted into points on live television, and one of them is crowned King of Heroes at the end of the year. The first half of the film retells the opening two episodes of the series, in which the veteran Wild Tiger is handed a young partner who understands the work in an entirely different way. The second half is a new story: a thief named Robin Baxter takes a statue that stands for what heroes are supposed to mean, and the chase turns the heroes against one another, which is rather the point of it.
