My Hero Academia: Two Heroes

Izuku Midoriya travels with All Might to I-Island, a floating city of science. Villains attack and take hostages. Midoriya and his classmates step in, and along the way it becomes clear that All Might's power is almost gone. Kenji Nagasaki directed, from a screenplay by Yōsuke Kuroda. Bones produced and Toho distributed. It is the first theatrical film in the series. The story sits between the Final Exams and Forest Training Camp arcs of the manga. The manga's creator Kōhei Horikoshi was directly involved: he kept a good amount of oversight, designed the original characters Melissa and David and gave opinions and corrections on the script. It took 1.6 billion yen in Japan, about 14.1 million dollars, for a worldwide total of 33.4 million. It sold a million tickets in Japan and placed fourth on its opening weekend. Rotten Tomatoes sits at 100 percent with a 7.5 average. It won Best Film at the Crunchyroll Anime Awards and was nominated at the IGN and Newtype awards. Who it is for: people following the series.
