What 'Til We Meet Again Is About
Dan Hardesty is a passenger on an ocean liner. The voyage is not his own choice. A police officer is taking him back to America. The officer is called Steve Burke. A death sentence is waiting for Dan. Joan Ames is on the same ship. Joan is gravely ill. She has decided to spend what is left of her life travelling. The two of them meet in a bar in Hong Kong. Later they run into each other again on board. Something begins between them, and each keeps their own situation from the other. The voyage is built on that silence. The film is a remake of a picture from 1932. Merle Oberon, George Brent, Pat O’Brien and Geraldine Fitzgerald appear in the ninety nine minute film, an American production Edmund Goulding finished in 1940.
