What Tonight We'll Celebrate in the Family Is About
At the centre of the film are two Don Juans whose actual trade is travelling the country to find women desperate to marry and to get money out of them. In every town there is a new name, a new story and a new engagement. But the system jams somewhere, and the two of them fall into the game they set up themselves. The film works in the mould of Romanian comedy of the seventies and puts the swindling next to the loneliness; the women being deceived are not left standing simply as victims either. Dem Radulescu and Sebastian Papaiani appear in Geo Saizescu’s ninety eight minute film, completed in 1972.
