Toxikoma

The film tells the young years of a Hungarian actor and his struggle with addiction in that period. The account shows the beginning of the work, how success on stage and collapse in private life moved forward at the same time, and how late the people around him noticed. The film does not go into detail about the substance or the ways it was used; it gives its weight to the piling up of lies, to promises not kept and to the story a person tells himself. The effort to stop does not end with a single decision either, but begins again and again. It rests on a real life story. Aron Molnar plays the lead in Gabor Herendi’s hundred and twenty four minute Hungarian film, completed in 2021.
