What Trailer Park Boys: Countdown to Liquor Day Is About

Ricky, Julian and Bubbles come out of prison meaning to build a proper life this time: Julian will open a bar, Ricky will finish school, Bubbles will look after his cats. The plan comes apart on day one. Mike Clattenburg drew the film out of the Canadian series of the same name and keeps the mockumentary form, with the camera always present and the characters talking to it. The machine runs entirely on three men believing themselves clever. The Sunnyvale trailer park, the supervisor Jim Lahey and his drinking carry the whole mechanism of the show. Its best quality is never losing the tragic side of Bubbles. It can be watched without knowing the series, but half the jokes come from there. Who it is for: viewers of Trailer Park Boys and fans of crude Canadian humour. Who it is not for: anyone who does not know the show.
